[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Sep-02 AT 00:18 AM (EST)]This might help - check your coolant hoses for an air leak - a buddy of mine had a similar overheating problem in a 'foreign make' car and the cause was air.
Also, just because you replaced the thermostat does not mean it is working - I had a defective one once which caused a problem, so you might want to take it out and check it.
Hope this info is useful!

How is your pressure cap? If it is old get a new one. A lot cheaper than replacing a radiator and then finding it was something simple. What do you mean by getting hot? Is it boiling over or are you just going by what the gauge says? Do you have a fan clutch and is it working properly? Do you have the proper amount of coolant? I know-lots of questions but necessary to help you figure out the problem.
ill check the thermostat out...
when i say its getting hot, im going by what the gauge says. its not boiling over. i dont know about the fan clutch. yes i have the proper amount of coolant.
thanks
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Sep-02 AT 06:36 PM (EST)]I have a 79' 351W that runs hot and I've done everything except put in a new rad and water pump. Let us know what you come up with.
One of the best things I did was to install a overflow tank for the rad. No more spills and no more opening the top to check the level.
My 77 never realy got a chance to run hot , because I took it off the trailer after i purchased it and left it at my friend the mechanics garage , BUT when we pulled the 400 with a 140k on the motor it had definitely been running very hot--there were fairly large mineral deposits around the water passages between the heads and the block-so I just went ahead and let the machinist find another block that i could do the 30 over thing on and it also had the same type of mineral dep's also----which is to say that could a factor in decreasing the rate of cooling that is causing your problem.........fd
