Well, what can i say. It seems that this is a very common problem, that has a whole slew of causes. The truck is a 1990 F-150 2wd, 4.9 with the 5 speed.
Heres the symtoms:
Choppy idle,
Choppy cruse (more like a sputter while crusing)
Seems to have no to very little problems under accelartion.
Manifold vac, is a constant 20-21inches.(at idle)
tune up is within a year.(plugs, wires, cap, ect)
key on fuel pressure is 28psi. 42psi while running.
I changed a few things that i read here that where common causes:
cleaned map sensor,
change IAC, (weird note, idle stays the same weither it's pluged up or not, It's brand new)
fuel pressure regulator,
speed sensor(it still show's a fault though, and cruse controll don't work, if thta matters)
lots of new vacuum lines,
Cleaned throttle body, and installed new gasket.
codes are 11 and speed sensor code
running code is 11 system pass right?
This has had me scratching my head for a while. Thanks in advance. This site rocks.
I believe the wiring is fine. I will tripple check however. It really idles fine, except for that slight studder ever 4-5 sec. Could there still a vacuum leak somewhere?? Would a vacuum leak cause the problem i'm seeing? The truck pulls good, and drives good ,but the studder is kinda getten old.
