I have a 68 Ranger and the dashpad has numerous serious cracks. Has anyone found a good way to deal with this. I dont really want to spend the money to buy a new dashpad. I saw that L M C has some type of cover for the dashpad. Does anyone have one of these and if so are they any good?
Thanks
They frequently show up on eBay too. I got one there, not perfect but pretty nice. The shipping is a bit high though (mine was over $40). Good luck.

The dash covers are around $100. When a good condition pad goes on sale on eBay they sell for $100-150. I'd buy one off eBay before I'd put a cover on it.
I got a '68 F-250 from my father-in-law. One of the things that he was proudest of is that the dash was perfect. Not a crack, not a scratch. He kept amour-all on it regularly, and it looks great. (The truck needs wheels, needs to be painted, and needs a new seat, but the dash was perfect.) Sad to say that there are now a couple tiny craps between a couple of the holes for the speaker. Now, if I can only get the rest of the truck to match!
Covers from Dashmat are around $40 + shipping. Check online. Even if you get a new dashpad, you will need one of these to protect it also. This is one of the first things we get for every vehicle we buy. Here's the link. http://www.global-accessories.com/dashmat/index.html

Reason: add information
Look in the junkyards. They are still out there, but pretty rare. I've found three in the junkyards and around(two were in the F550's or above). The big trucks like that used the same interior as our models up in the 70's. Im not sure what year they stopped though. They were in perfect shape and i didn't pay over $20 for any of them. Ive also seen some trucks where the dashpad has been taked off completley and the holes filled up and the dash painted. It looked really good. Just some suggestions

I finally picked up mine last weekend, it was cheaper than I thought, $25. The $35 ones were the velour ones.
Looks good, could have gone with maroon instead of red, but looks good.
I ended up trying my hand at some dash upholstering the cheap way. I just went out and bought a sheet of vinyl and some strong spray on adhesive. It came out pretty good except the cracks underneath show a little. If I were to do it again I would have tried to smooth out the cracked dash a little first. Eventually Ill probably buy a new dash but it will do for now.
