3rd gear

I'm not sure if I'm 3rd gear challanged or just my right arm is becoming shorter but lately when shifting into 3rd gear it's not moving through the (shift gate?) completely into gear. It feels as though I've made the shift but it pops out into neutral. Maybe I'm just getting lazy about making the complete motion of getting it into 3rd but.......Anyone else experience this? It's not doing it all the time which leads me to believe I have arm incompetence. But before I go to the shift doctor I thought I'd check with the crew. Any info/experiences with this??

Thanks.

JB

I've had the same problem. For me I believe it is driver error. Just yesterday I was looking at this pretty woman and had the miss-shift. Obviously I was thinking about something else other than shifting!

H u r r a y! More ZF6 owners!!!

You might wanna move your seat one click forward. I vaccumed the truck out a while back. Moved all the seats around so nothing was right. I hopped in the next morning, I couldn't see out the rear view mirror, the side mirrors were looking at the door handles. I adjusted all kinds of things, even scooted the seat forward, then as the day drew on, I was missing shifts at the top of the gate. I could still reach the clutch. The steering wheel felt in the right place... One click forward with the seat and all was well. I guess that my body had built up memory. Sure wish my brain would. With the last two brain cells fighting it out to the death, It's a wonder that I can get anything accomplished.

Yeah, initially the first thought that went through my mind was that I bent a shift fork or something. But no, the ZF has been functioning fine since the day I drove it off the lot.

Never really thought of the seat moved back a bit. I'll have to give that a try.

Thanks Steve.
