I am thinking about putting this on the ol diesel but I have heard no opinions on this ever. Anyone else running this mod or have something to say about it ?
It's better at controlling EGT's than it is at making power, but it does do both. I've seen water/meth. make 50 horsepower on a dyno, but I don't think it makes that much on mine....I also only run about 20% meth.
Most are a manual switch inside, and boost activated. some are EGT activated also.
On edit. found this, right off cookie link. The system is a 2 stage design, controlled by a combination of boost and/or EGTs. You can set what you want each stage to activate with via switches in the cab. (Example - Stage 1 boost, Stage 2 EGT, Stage 1 boost, Stage 2 boost, etc.) Both stages can be individually turned off as well

On mine both stages are boost activated. I chose this set-up for two reasons. One, the all boost system was (and is) $100 less expensive than the EGT trigger. Second, Ken (the owner of DPS) recommended I do it that way. Said the EGT trigger is primarily for truck pulls, drag racing...that sort of thing.
