Ive heard how you dont wanna pull with your scmt set on the high setting but never thought my truck ran right so this weekend i left it on the performance setting and hooked to a bout 10000 pds and took off . I only had to go a few miles but it was all up hill. from the time i pulled on the hiway I held it to the floor till I hit about 70 the eased off the gas. egts never got over 1100 and after I eased off they leveled off at about 800 (thats pre turbo) but right before i let off I did set off the over boost sensor.shouldnt it have got higher egts set on that setting?
I would run 60 hp setting pulling 12,000 lbs. A freind told me that he run 80 hp pulling his trailer with hid 05 dodge, so the last three times I used 90 hp setting. Truck pulled great. SES light did come on when boost hit 26 but there was no defueling. Light would go off after running lower boost for 5 minutes or so. EGT's were highest at 1250 which was for only a few minutes only when going up 7% grade on interstate and pushing it a bit to keep it at 65 to 70 mph. Otherwise going 70 to 80 mph I averaged 750 to 850 degrees pre turbo. All three times it was 600 mile round trips.

Never went above 1100 with 10K lbs. on the hitch!! Nice. You don't need to worry about switching programs with it running like that.
It depends. You've already got your intake, exhaust, and wastegate mods in place. Also, some stock Ford programs run hotter than others, and Superchips stock programs aren't all that aggressive.
Oh yeah...anytime, and everytime the SES light comes on from overboost the truck defuels. Most of the time you can't feel it, but it happens.
