Garrett application on 4.6?
Hey I have found a deal on a Garrett turbo and would like to know if anyone could tell me if any Garrett turbos will work on a '99 F150 4.6. Also how I could determine which one this turbo is. I have already went to a site called turbocalculator.com and found many Garrett turbos but I am not real familiar with them and don't know which one this is. I will say that the turbo is the cheapest one I have ever heard about and it's never been used!

On my 4.6 I have a Master Power T-61, which is very similar to a Air Research or Garret T-61. Somewhere on the compressor there should be a small tag with a model number and serial number. If you have that model number you can determine what size turbo it is. On the exhaust housing the A/R might either be cast into it, or stamped into it. I have seen it both ways, and also not at all.
If all else fails, you will have to take it apart and measure everything to determine what it is.

ok thanks I will try to find a model number and A/R, otherwise I might just have to skip this deal. The reason I am so interested is because I definately want to charge my engine(no doubt about it); but this turbo is new and only $300! I would be sick if I didn't get it when it could fit!
