I was just checking out the new xbox coming out this fall/winter.
Looks pretty wild for sure, But what i couldnt find was whether or not you can use your regular xbox games on this new bad boy.
Anybody know? Cause of course me being me Im gonna have to have it, gots to have all the new toys

Mostly because the hd is optional.. no hd.. and halo breaks.

Basically at first about 85% of your X360's will have the HDD in them, and at some point later on in the machines life cycle you'll see basically a x360 without the hdd.. Kind of like the slimline ps2's out now.

Personally i'm saving my change for the PS3. Only game im interested in for X360 is Halo 3...after that... theres not much else.

As far as backwards compatibility, my understanding is that they're making it so some of the more popular xbox games will be playable on xbox 360, but not all. For example, halo 1 and halo 2 will probably be playable on xbox 360.

I personally don't see any reason why I would buy this. I pretty much gave up playing any video games until a few years ago when halo 1 came out. I bought an xbox and halo 1, and that's it.... played it with a passion, pretty competitively, and still do every day. Since there are no other games I play or would want to spend time playing, I don't see any reason to get the 360, or even to get other games for my current xbox. Even if I'd be able to play halo 1 on the 360, it still won't be able to be played on xbox live, and what's the point of spending $300-400 just to play the same game I'm happy with on a different system. Better looking graphics are certainly not worth it, especially when I like them as they are now. So basically, I won't be buying a 360. I'll probably try out halo 3 when it comes out, and if it's any good I'll get a 360, but I expect it to be as entirely awful as halo 2, so I doubt I'll be buying one.

If I were to buy it, I'd wait a year for the price to come down, and then buy it at Costco to get the best deal.

 

I was under the impression that old xbox games will be playable if you purchase hardware that makes it compatible?????
