Had this Bronco for three months now, has been prety reliable after the a/c got replaced. Anyway, my locks have just failed. One day they worked perfectly, the next they didn't work at all. I can lock them manually which really doesn't bother me, but if I have power locks, I'd like them to work. Any parts here that are known for failing that I should look out for?
When any part that relies on electricity fails, always check the fuses. Have you done that? Secondly, If the fuse is fine, I would start tracing wires and make sure everything is cool. Finally, and improbably, pull the power lock off and see if the connections are clean.
same as he said, but you might want to go ahead and get some good wiring diagrams, and a multimeter if you don't allready have one. The 87-91 Broncos had a lot of electrical problems, but with proper tools and diagrams, they can easily be fixed.
Oh what year is your truck? I assume it's a 87-91 from experience.
Yeah, checked the fuses, all in beautiful shape. Was hoping to get by without buying another multimeter (last one was in the toolbox that got stolen. $*#@$*@ ). When it finally cools down here some, I'll get out, pull the door panels, and see what there is to see (visually) on the wires. I also have a decent set of schematics in the manual I picked up (can't remember offhand if it's a Chilton's or Haynes).
Oh, sorry, it's a '92. Would have it up in the sig if that didn't mean shellin out more $$$ that I don't have. Sucks bein a college student sometimes .
