I have a 77 F250 crewcab 4x4. It has a Dana 80 rear (I'm about 80% certain) and a Dana 60 front axle. I have the dual piston disc brakes on the front.
Currently, the truck has dually rims on the rear and normal rims up front. I am looking at getting some nice dually rims all around in the next few months, The truck is currently due for brakes and the rotors look like they might have one more cutting on them, if that much, so I am considering replaceing them.
My Problem is I don't know what type of hubs/rotors should go with the dana 60 to hold the dually rims. or If I should just get one of the kits for conversion.
i am not sure, but i dont think ford built a true dual wheel 4x4 in 77. i think they were all as you described. i know all of the dually trucks, with pickup beds, up to 77, either had regular wheels on the front or a kind of adaptor that spaced the fronts out for the 1 ton wheels. i have had 1 76 and 1 77 dually and they both had regular wheels on the front and 1 ton wheels on the rear.
You have a Dana 70 in the rear of your truck Dana 80s only come in F-Superduties and the 99 and newer F-350s and F-450s. You maybe able to change the front rotors and hub system off of a newer F-350 4x4 dually like a 85. The other option is look for a adaptor to give you the proper spacing to bolt baby budd wheels on the front axle to match the rears.
