Switching Oil?

I've got 70k on my 02 diesel and was thinking about going full syn. oil. Is there a good or bad time to do this? I've heard with a gas motor it's not a good thing to do with high miles. Is there any kind of limitations like this with a diesel? I've used rotella t the whole time.

This is just my opinion, stealth, but if that 70K has been trouble-free, and the engine still seems strong - stay with the Rotella T.

My son has a saying "RotellaT for my PSD." He's got over 300K - no joke - and drives it like a borrowed mule.

When I got my truck it had 68K on the clock and my first oil change I went to Rotella syn... Have never looked back, I also use in my Oliver tractor and my mowers, no problems. I have a 01 7.3 PSD..

I've been using Case/IH motor oil in everything from pickups to combines to semi's for years and have had no problems. One thing I have learned over the years is - if it isn't broke don't fix it. If what you are using is working well don't change. The worst thing a person could do is switch brands or types of oil all the time. For example: My 93 pickup has over 200000 miles on it with the same oil all the time with no problemsa nd other friends who own diesels ask how well the engine runs.
