Need Some Advice

I am fairly new to this site. So go easy on me. I am a real Big Ford fan. I have one questions for now. I have a 1973 Ford F-100 that had a 360 with C6 Automatic. I swoped the 360 and C6 for a 302 and a C4 out of a 1979 Ford F-100. The C4 is a little weak. When it craps out on me shpuld I have it rebuilt or go back to a C6.

That depends on what you are doing with the truck, and how much power is that 302 going to push. If you keep the 302 stock or mildly modified, the C4 will be fine. They are pretty strong if built correctly and don't use as much HP as the C6. If you go wild with a built 302, or racing, heavy towing, ect.,ect., go with the C6. They are pretty much bulletproof. If you go back to the C6, you will need a bell housing off a late 289, 300L6, 302 (obviously), 351W or a 351C. A 351M bell will NOT work, so don't confuse the 351C w/ the 351M. Whatever you do, do yourself a favor a change the fluid & filter and maybe ad a tranny cooler. This will prolong its life.Good Luck.
