steering box difference ?

steering box difference ?
Does anyone know if a steering box from a reg. cab is the same as one for a supercab? I have a 78 F-250 supercab & hoping to install a slightly used rebuild from a 77 reg. cab. Other than the line fittings maybe being different I was hoping it would be the same. I was thinking maybe the turning ratio could be different. They are both PS boxes. Thanks Jeff.

I don't know the answer, but try calling your local parts store(s) and ask them if the same part# is called for in both applications. A reply post of what you find maybe beneficial to someone else.

The cab(s) , crew , super , or regular , is irrevelant as far the steering box is concerned , what counts is f250 to f250 , 2whdr or 4 whdr , and the year model to year model in terms of compatability of parts is concerned---a 77-f250 , 2wh dr steering box should work on a 78-f250 , 2 whdr-----just remove both and compare them , side by side , that should tell you quickly how much alike they are.........fd
