Hi all, not sure if this is correct spot to post this, but feemed like the best place.
I've got an '02 F-250 king cap V-10 Lariat. The dash light started flickering between nighttime and daytime setting the other evening and this was affecting the headlights as well. The headlight switch was set in the "auto" mode, and changing it to parking lights, lights on, or off had no affect. There was a clicking occuring behind the dash as well, like a relay going off. I'm guessing that something has gone wrong with the light sensor on the dash that automatically turns the headlights on. Any clues?
It ended up being the photo eye switch on the very front of the dash near the windshield that automatically turns the headlights on. I had it replaced and that solved the problem. It wasn't a cheap fix because the dash had to come off to replace it.
Thanks.
I was thinking it might be that little sucker.
I may try to put something over it, to keep it dark at all times, and maybe the lights will just stay in the on position.....
