? on Weld racing wheels

I can get a set of 17" 5 on 5/135 Weld racing 454 Renegade wheels for my 03' F150 sport. I do occasionally pull an oversized trailer and was wondering if anyone knows for a fact that they are or not hubcentric/safe for my rig?

The wheels are brand new still in box from someone who was going to put them on a expedition, traded in for '05, and is getting rid of all four still in original packaging /w center caps for $750 !!!

I'm hoping these will work but could not find anything via google nor Weld's website on if these are hubcentric for my rig.

I'm thinking for rubber Mickey Thompson MTX 33x12.5 tires. The M/T website shows I can get away with these tires w/o suspension or body lift.

THANX

First of all those tires are not that good in mud, if you care. They are better than ATs (which suck miserably) but not by much. I recommend MT's they last just as long.

And the Weld's... Cleatus12R on this board had his Weld rim seperate at the seam when he was going 72mph. It was bad... Therefore I dont recommend them. Oh yeah, they didnt back their product with the lifetime guarantee either.

Weld wheels are very strong. I have yet to see one break out on the trail. As a member of our 4x4 club, Weld wheels have held up without problems while running 39" boggers in mud, rocks, trees, ect...

I highly reccommend them. Very strong. They have a very high weight rating as well compared to other wheel manufacturers

These will be more for summer daily drivers more than off road.

Are they hubcentric though? That's all I'm looking for.

Wasn't the fact that Cody wasn't the original owner a factor in them not backing the product? I could be wrong but I remember him saying something about having the original owner being covered but not him. That may be something you want to consider when buying a used wheel even if it's never been mounted. You may not be covered under warranty should you ever need it. I would call weld and ask if they will warranty the product even if your not the original purchaser. Make sure you get it in writing if they say yes. Just my opion.

Weld wheels require a TON of maintenance. If you don't polish them on a reglular (daily) basis, they oxidize and turn white. Also they scratch VERY easily. I found that out because people always used to use my wheels as steps when getting into the box.

Oh yeah, if you're not the original owner you're SOL when it comes time for warranty issues.......Even the "lifetime structural warranty". I know from experience and paid out the tailpipe for it. Weld will never get my business again.
