O.k.
After almost three years of work, I pretty much just have the doors left to put together. I just received new seals and anti-rattle seals for the doors. I took my vent windows out of the frame so that both could be painted. I went to install the first vent window seal and it acts like it is to big for the hole. It keeps bunching up on me in the bottom. I even took the two little screws out of the top so that I could get the rubber up into the top as far as possible. I got very aggravated so set it down and am giving it(me) some cool down time.Is there a trick I'm missing? Should you use any type of weatherstrip adhesive to help hold it? Any hints would be appreciated. This is the only thing holding me up from my first car show. Any and all help is appreciated.

P.S. The seals all came from L.M.C., I have had some problems with previously ordered items through them, but have read on here that some have used there seals with good luck.
Hi, I just went up to the local glass shop and he pulled them out in about 15 seconds with a tool made for that. Went home and painted them, straightened the frames and handle support and the next day took it back and he had the glass back in in about the same time. I do not know how hard it would be to do it at home but for $10 it was worth him doing it. He had the new rubber too but did not need it. Hope this helps, Erv
Hopefully I didn't mis communicate what I'm doing. I'm talking about the vent window seal..The large triangle shape seal that the vent window closes against. I didn't actually take the vent window out of its own two sided frame. I can get it on, but it just acts like its a little oversized, wasn't sure if anyone else had this problem or not, whereas I have read on here that others have used the LMC seals.

P.S. Thanks for your help.
This is funny, I was doing the EXACT thing today! I know what you mean, I was able to get them on except for the bottom corner where the vertical portion meets with the lower portion. I've tried just about everything I can think of and can't seem to get them on correctly.
P.S. I am moving to Skowhegan, Maine in about a year maybe I can check out your truck!
Aggravating wasn't it
I am giving it a day or two to shrink But don't think thats gonna work.
New Mexico to Maine, that will be a culture shock. You can check out my truck anytime

P.S. let me know if you find the secret.
Well now I kinda feel like a dolt! I looked at an extra set of vent window frames and noticed that I was tring to put the rubber on the wrong sides. O'well, after I changed them they both went in fine with a little elbow grease.
I was going to chime in. but I see you found your problem. I put new everything on my 77 several years ago. Vents, windows, doors, etc. I ordered mine from J. C. Whitney and they all fit great and I had no problem putting them in. Adhesive is only used on the door frame, do not use on the wind wings. Also note that I am already starting to hear wind noise again. I think next time I will used black silicon glue to seal up the wind wings. It's gonna be a bitch to open them, but at least I wont hear that darn wind noise any more.
