It's my understanding that sweet crude like what's in the Middle east is used for gasoline & The Heavy Crude we Canada have is used for diesel fuel & home heating oil.

Here is some great reading.

Thanks for the compliments on my article. I'll share more as time goes on. I didnt know I was a writer till the paper started letting me rant about whatever I wanted. after 4 articles I won best college collumnist in the state of Oregon by the oregon newspaper publishers association. that was a huge surprise, i just like talking my mind about stuff.

about this article, it was written about 4 months ago, when the gas prices did drop a tiny bit and it was ALL over the news, that was entirely ridiculous cause they never really boast that much when they go through the roof 10 fold of the (then) recent decrease. I thought we bought alaska for the oil, When I did research about it to back myself up, thats when i found out i was wrong. the fur trade is what motivated us to buy alaska from the russians, we were ghoing to offr like 4 million for it, then got distracted with WW1? or WW2, I forget now, but in the end we paid around 15 million. they set aside anwr sort of like a renewable resource so that the hunters wouldnt kill ALL of the animals, only the ones that stepoped foot outside that area. so yeah, guess where the animals ran. but this was all in the middle 1900's, the fur industry isnt what it used to be, and I personally dont think we have a use for the ANWR anymore.

lemme know if you would like to see other articles I've written. thanks!

The bottom line is GREED! Look at the reported earnings of all the major oil companys.
It takes money to build refinerys, drill wells, when you spend money the proffet goes down.
