Cool oxygen sensor?

So if an oxygen sensor needs replaced how will the truck perform. I was told that I need to replace an oxygen sensor near the driver side of my 99 Mazda pickup. I want to sure that is really the problem. It idles bad, it looses power going up hills, and it seems as though it gets stuck at a low speed-I'll have the gas pedal to the floor, and it isn't going over 20 MPH and then eventually it will kick it but it sounds rough. Any ideas. I just had $1700 of repairs done so I am wanting to be sure it isn't something done during the previous repairs.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Are you getting any codes, have you tested fuel pressure.

What did you do for $1700?

How many miles on the truck?

I had both R & R cylinder heads replaced, cylinderhead gaskets, torque converter clutch solenoid replaced, transmission filter and gasket replaced, I had also had spark plugs done earlier and they re-replaced 1 of those that they had cracked as well as alot of the fluids such as antifreeze, oil, and transmission fluid. There is 117, 000 miles on the truck. It is a 1999 Mazda B4000, V6 SE 4x4 extended cab. I have not specifically checked the fuel pressure.
