? about power

ok heres a ? not gonna explain the engine but its putting about 350HP to the ground with 5.13 gears not quit together yet and around 400 torque. does anyone see any problems with this engine bogging down if i hit around a 3 ft. mud hole at full throttle from power not anything else only power wise. Not worried about going wise only power ,will this be decent with 40in boggersalso if engine specs is needed i can give tomorrow when a little less alcohol

thanks kevin

Thats a bit underpowered for 40" boggers in 3' of mud. For example, I'm putting out over 600hp and I barely have enough to make my 44" boggers work in deep mud. Then again, theres thin soupy mud and heavy high clay content mud. Your making respectable power, just not for big boggers in deep mud. But, you'll only know for sure when you get out in it.

that really also depends on what rpm the power is coming in at... but, i say go for it, if you get stuck, build more power.

You may know everyhting im saying, but im gonna say it anyways. And what gear your gonna use... you diffs are geared pretty tall for 40's, so in a low gear youll have an a$$-load of torque. Boggers take a WHOLE lot of horses and wheel speed to keep clean. ideally you would want your peak hp to be at a pretty high rpm. How fast does your engine rev up when you get on the go-stick? getting to high rpm's quickly is key...

Well i can turn my 35x16's fairly easily with a bone stock 400 and 4.10's (i can hold it at redline in 2nd gear and 4 lo (nv-435 and np205tc), i can run in third and 4low for a good ways in the soupy mud as well, should be able to hold third and lo once i get the intake and carb put on.

But with 5.13's and 350 horse you shouldn't have to many problems, but you will notice it a bit underpowered, but as said above its about gear selection and when/if you shift ., also how wide are the tires you're runnin.

Are the 5.13's already in there? Is this a DD too, or strictly a trail rig?
I would personally go with the 4.56's or if your worried about power, the 4.88's...

I was concerned about gearing a little while ago. I couldnt decide between 5.13's and 4.88's either... but Im going to be running 46's
