Electric windows

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Oct-02 AT 04:34 PM (EST)] I was about to buy a new window regulator for the old 77 when I saw the electric window kits in JCW. For less than the cost of two regulators you get both and the motors and switches and wiring.
The kit is made by Electro-Life. Does anyone have any experience with this company? Bad experience with electric windows in general?

Ooops, that's Electric-Life

Personally, I stay away from JCWhitless but I do have the power window kit in my 74 High Boy. I purchased them directly from A-1 Electric from this page:

[link:www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AEOS&Product_Co de=FD41-K|1973-79 Ford F Series Truck & 78-79 F Series Bronco Power Window Kit]

I've only had the kit in the truck for a couple of weeks, so I can't really tell you about longevity. However, the kit was fairly well made except for a few minor things such as the bolt pattern being just a hair off, and also the nylon insert that fits in the window track was too thick, needing some grinding down in order to slide correctly. Other than that, the windows are quiet, smooth, and easy to install.

Thank ya Laptop! It feels good when someone says that. It makes those 7 months of restoration all the more worth it. I'm almost done! It went from my fathers pride and joy in the 70's and early 80's, to the neglected ranch truck in the 80's and 90's, and now it is my pride and joy.

Graffe --

Same with Harrison; I rescued the poor guy after being used as a "trash-truck" for many long years -- abandoned and neglected..left under a darn tree to rot all alone. I need to start on his skin in the next few months. I'll probably use the latest Ford Explorer bright yellow on the body in combination with his black leather interior. Then he'll be able to hold his chest (bumper?..) up high and proud (but LOUD) at the red lights...
