FYI, I got my recall notice a while back. Mine is a 1998 LD F250 xtracab with the short bed.

I was just notified about my 99 extended cab last week by Ford. It wasn’t in the first batch that was recalled.

If you cant make it to the dealer, its fairly simple to make a quick fix yourself. I took my 97 F150 4x4 flarside in and all they did was disconnected the plug-in on the switch and placed black tape on it. I have no cruise control now, but the worries are calmed. I have to take the truck back up there in november when they will have the replacement part availible, or so they told me.

I wonder if the Delphi bankruptcy is gonna have any effect on this recall. I dont know if they make any parts for ford or not.

The sensible thing for Ford to do is replace the switch, but however they have come up with a better and cheaper idea!!! Install a fused wire that feeds the cruise switch. Now that makes sense! The switches are bad, lets not replace them.
