Engine stalling after a few minutes
Yesterday my engine died while driving down the road. It restarted. I drove another four minutes and it died again and would not restart. After sitting for a about 15 minutes, it restarted. It fan for about 5 minutes and died again. This seems to be the continuous pattern now. I have changed the fuel filter put in fresh fuel. However the problem still continues. Any ideas?

sounds like the "cam position sensor" those are the exact symtoms. its a fairly common problem on the 7.3. do search in this forum for "cam sensor" or "CSP" or "CMP" and you will find all the info you need to put a new one in. the part is 100-150 dollars and is easy to replace

I got the same suggestion from a friend. So I took a trip to NAPA. 10 minutes to replace the part and the truck has been running for 15 minutes with no problem. Thanks. I always like it when I can fix a problem without paying a mechanic.
