05 F250 Surging Problem
I got a new 05 with approx 2100 miles. After a week of running the truck. The truck ran awful. Took it to the dealer and he said it ran low on fuel. The fuel light did come on but was refueled after 10 miles of driving. The truck never cut out. Now the truck will surge when it at approx 2000 rpm's 20-50 mph. It's present when going up hills, under load, etc... They said the fuel injectors were fine but now they want it for 3-4 days to check the trans. They reprogrammed the computer and reset a few things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The tach needle will flutter and jump all around. Instead of the truck shifting smoothly it goes in spurts.

Fishman, Sorry to hear of the problem with your new ride- Your dealer should have 6.0 certified techs and they should be able to make short work out of your problem... I could guess (from 800 miles away) that it is EGR or ICP. Both easily remedied- From what I understand, the EGR is relatively easy to determine if it has failed (sticking/stuck open) but the ICP seems to cause "phantom" surging, etc. Good luck
