351w end gap clearance
hi,
i cant find any of my books and was wondering if someone could look up for me what the ring end gap clearances should be for a 351w. the motor is a 1972 casting.

The rule of thumb is to allow .004 for every inch of bore size for high performance street engines. That works out to .016 for a four-inch bore and you can close that up a bit for the second ring since it runs cooler, say .010-.012.
