Hello all,
I have a question about the Groundforce 2 inch rear drop leveling kit. I just purchased a new 2005 XLT crewcab and want to make level. The Groundforce kit come with tapered spacers to fit above the axle in regards to drive shaft angle. Ok that is fine and dandy. My question is why do other companies that make shackles for lowering the rear of the truck don't supply the tapered shims for there drop kit? to my knowledge. Is the tapered shims needed if I install the new 2 inch drop shackles?
Maybe they just want to charge you extra for them. I installed 2" drop shackles on my chevy many years ago and noticed a new vibration in the rear end. Made a call to the number on the instruction sheet and was told about a 2 degree wedge kit they offer to eliminate the vibration. Their price was almost double what I paid Mr. Jeg for the wedges (shims). Aparrently not all trucks develop the vibration, I was just one of the lucky ones.
