Took off on one of my many road trips and was excited about getting a good road test on my PSD after replacing a chip and installing a new 4 position DP tuner chip.
Got my chance to "let her breathe" on the Interstate with the Econo tune and zeroed in on a new 6.0 in front of me. Caught up with the Cowboy Cadillac 6.0 fairly handily and breezed by him. Of, course that didn't go over to well with him and I'm sure it hurt his ego.
Needless to say, after about 40 miles of running with the 6.0 and my speedo at "zero", the 6.0 faded.
I was surprised because with my older chip it seemed to max out at a little over the century mark while the DP tune still had about 20 mph left in it.
Damn... Makes me wish I was back in Tucson. I'd take you for a good run. Say Tucson to Demming?
On the way to FL to put her in storage I came up against an almost identical 7.3 as mine, his was SRW. I kept my chip in "race" and let him slowly catch up until nose to nose. I punched the chip up to "extreme" and punched on the propane. I immediatly pulled away dumping soot on him. He let off when I was about five lengths in front of him. He followed me down I-10 until I pulled over to hit the pisser. We talked about 30 minutes with him crawling and peeking around the truck. He was flabbergasted and an immediate mod convert!

Hahaha, Jlower......hhhmmmm....give me head start?
I'm making that run tomorrow.....wish you were here!
yes the stock programmed trucks cut out around 97. so once you can get past that, youre golden.
Yeah kinda freaky to see the speedo wind back to "0" when you got her pegged.
Yeah, by the looks of it, and the way the 6.0 ran...it was a stocker. I think it surprised him and his buddy riding shotgun. All I saw was cowboy hats in the rear view.
He did have some go fast redneck racing stripes on her though......chew spit brown ones all the way down both sides of a white PSD..........hahaha.
Come to think of it Heat, Do you know of anyone here on the forum who's experienced any problems from changing the flipchips while running 80+MPH. It has always been there at the back of my mind saying don't, just wait until the light, but the inner child usually wins.

No, haven't read about anyone doing it. I've switched from the 80-100 settings a few times while running 50 mph or so, haven't tried it at 80 mph+ .........yet.....
Nice run!
I've heard some tunes just can't get rid ot the speed limiter. Glad your DP did.
I've been as fast as 98mph WOT going uphill and my engine was so smooth and effortless. Kinda surprised me it didn't shake or buzz. What boost did you see at WOT? I still don't have the nerve to go past 100, although I've done 150 mph in my Camaro during NASA HPDE track sessions at California Speedway. I just don't have confidence in the brakes or tires.
Good thing you guys have the safety off the 7.3 forum. Some guys over on the 6.0 would clean your house pretty good with there trucks.
Bring it on! I ain't askeered of no 6.0. Me and da boys can show 'em how it's dun on da track, on da road, and at da pulls! (Sorry, back woods lingo got the best of me for a small moment in time)
