hi everone- i have a 95 explorer w/a 4.0 in it. i was wondering which would be better-1) a super chip,or 2) a tuner, or what, also does any other electronic system/component need reprograming? i have a limited budget & i want the most bang for my bucks, also how do i find out if i need any computor program updates? oh yea, also where is the computer located in a 95 & what specialty tools do you need to open it up? do i have to take the chip/tuner and truck up to the ford dealer for reprograming ? or does the chip/tuner come preprogramed? thanks for any & all info. e-man.
There isn't a tuner for 1995 vehicles, except the diesels.
You'll need to go with a chip. Best overall price for 1 performance tune plus stock tune, with good performance: Diablo Sport. Best overall bang for the buck (more tunes, good price): SCT. No special tools are needed other than a socket set to remove the computer. The Ford dealer plays no part in it, you simply plug the chip module into the service port on the computer. www.motorhaven.com for either brand.
Ken,
I hate to interrupt this thread but I see you're on and had written you a PM and questions regarding the V10 & torque boost. drop me a line if you can.
thanks

I'm working my tail off catching up. There's a line and I'm handling things as best I can, even to the extent that I'm working from home because I feel like crap right now. I'll get to your PM in the order received (I have about 30 in front of it).
