I have the water temp, oil pressure, differential temp and voltmeter on order. All autometer ultra-lites with ITP diesel's red LED bulbs. They will obvoiusly match my other four A-post gauges. This will make my total sofar of ten gauges ( two air gauges for my onboard air system and air bags).
That being said any advise as to where I should put the sending units, for my oil pressure and water temp? Also what numeric values am I looking for, highs and lows too. I am assuming pretty close to that of a gasser oil pressure 40-60 psi, and water temp 195-200 degrees.
No clue what to ask the number values on the diff, should be. But I will see what it runs both empty and towing my fiver.
I also ordered a PML diff cover while I was at it. Thanks for the info.
Damn, you have three more gauges then me....air guages don't count though..hahaha
My mechanical oil psi. connection is the auxilliary port off my Oil Guard and at idle is 28 lbs and under heavy acceleration and cruisng is 60 lbs and WOT 80 lbs.
My coolant sending unit is tapped into the coolant filter head and I see 203*.
Talked with Dennis, he said my my oil pressure gauge is electric. obviuosly like we talked about, an oil leak in the headliner would be very bad. I am looking at tapping in near the stock oil filter in one of the test ports there, (probably where you made the connections for your oilguard system)
As for the water temp, Dennis said something about using the drain plug in the block. He wasn't real sure either though so I was looking where others have tapped in.
I will as soon as they are in. Waiting on the diff. temp, and voltmeter to come in, Itp diesel doesn't have them in stock (not very common orders) so just waiting. I hope I get them in before or trip to utah, would really like to see some numbers on that long of a trip and towing my 5er.
The red LED's make it so cool looking at night with just my a-post gauges, cannot wait to see the look with the new ones too.
How do you run your lines, in order to keep them out of the serpentine belt?
And away from the exhaust manafold on the other side? I haven't actually gone out and looked at it I will do it tomorrow in the light.
