changing mirrors

Hey I have a 1990 F150 with those god awful looking mirrors on them. I want to be able to swap them for the style of mirrors from the 1992 and up series. Anyone ever done this and how easy is the swap? i would appreciate any help! Thnaks.

(Yes i did a search and could not find anything on mirror swaps. )

Which god awful mirrors? The low mount swing mirrors. If so, when changing, what are you going to do with the two lower mounting holes? Upper holes, I don't know if they are same width.

Yeah the huge low mount swing ones.LOL I am going to be getting some body work done and plan on having them filled in during the body work.

No added value from me...I have a 92 and I think those mirrors mounted on my truck are the best! I think they are durable and look good. I see why you like them. Good Luck

I like my mirrors... silver, shiny, and they have very good visability. Are you talking about the Tall mirrors? or ones like these? This is what I have... and you really should just keep them.. IMO

Yeah those are the ones I have. I really don't mind them except my truck is gonig to be more streamlined. They just don't want to have them all bulky and sticking out. I may end up having a custom shop retrofit them but i am trying to keep the cost down to a minimum.

Do you want the plastic stream-lined mirrors that started on 95 and up?
I have the mirrors shown in the link above, my truck is a stock 92, I like those. I do not like plastic, it doesn't take any abuse, and the big mirrors give you better visibility.

Yeah I have those in the link as well. I wanted the more streamlined ones. Just because the truck has a bumper cover on the front and rollpan. no step rails and no bed rails. All mono-toned in black.

I love those big mirrios on my truck. but on his the way it sounds the smaller black mirriors would look very good. If you live near a junkyard you can go investiage and learn more about the smaller mirriors from looking around there.
