super 40 vs delta flow

Hey guys, i got a 40 series delta flow in my 05 f150, problem is, it is
very quiet. I'm thinking about switching in a super 40 flowmaster to
increase the loudness. Is this worth it? Will the super be that much louder
then the delta flow I got in now? Thanx for the help!

Hmmm, maybe a bit deeper...If you want the loud Flowmaster, get ya' the DeltaForce one (single-chamber). Its cheaper than the Super40

Well i decided to switch the mufflers. Damn, sounds exactly the same. I only have myself to blame though. The truck is just way to quiet sounding. What if i changed the cats to some high flow cats, would that improve the sound at all? I think i only have 2 cats (o5 f150), from what i could see. Any ideas guys, girls?

have a 96 f-150 and am running strait pipe with both cats with it y'd off and duels out the back and its still not that loud, before that i ran a magnaflow race series, and had the same problom you are, not LOUD....lol am going down today to get the cats cut off, that is from what everyone has told me is the main reason its not loud, i have 2 cats on mine as well. but if ya remove them or put a high flow cat in its place ya have to get an o2 sensor simulator for your rear o'2 sensor, (found mine on ebay for about 9 dollers for 2 of em with free shipping) have been told the front one will still function fine with out the cats, but that will make a huge difference in sound.. hope that helps ya some.

If you run High flows you won't need an O2 simm, it should work just the same as the cats are still doing the same job the old ones were. Reset the computer if you get a code but it should work just fine without the simm. If you have one cat per side on the '05 you can run true duals off them and replace with high flows, then you should get loud.

Not too sure if i want to do true duals though, I don't want to lose any power. I've heard that with true duals on a 5.4, you'll lose power in the low end. So i'll likely go with high flow cats into a single in, dual outlet flowmaster 40 series muffler. I'm just hoping that when i change the cats, I'll have a bit more sound. My truck is so quiet now, I can not even believe it. I almost feel like I wasted my money! Oh well, time for the cats now. Hopefully i'll be satisfied!

True Duals with 2.25" pipes and you won't lose in the low end(of you do it won't be much) To get much louder then the flows you could always go with a short magnaflow and that should liven it up.

go with the Original 40 series. To eliminate the drone get it moved back farther away from the cab. I am currently running NO cats, shorties and a SI/DO Original 40 series with 4in tips. Sounds sweet and pretty loud too.
