Have you ever washed and ragged your '04/'05 FX4 and had those virtually useless outside bed hooks leak water down the side of the bed? And even a day later take alittle cruise in your clean machine and have water streaks down the side. Well fear not, there is a cure. Carefully take the hooks off, take special attention how they go back on, and take a rat tail file and cut a grove in the bottom center of the plastic backing plate for the hook and reinstall. This allows the cavitity behind the hook to drain and viola, no more streaking.

That's a great suggestion! I have a Flareside and have experienced the same issues as you. It sounds like a quick and simple solution. Any particular precautions as far as removal or is it straight forward? I can't wait until the weekend to give it a try. Thanks for sharing this with the group.
