Question No Reeeeeverse

Strangest thing has happened twice now the truck has been sitting at least 24 hrs start up and short roll forward then shift into reverse and no go both times outside temp approx 80-85 F. not sure if it has any thing to do with it but am just searching for common char. the two events I'll call them were 1 1/2 wks apart and about 500 mls 3000' elev. diff. I'm stumped but put it back in park and cycle the key and everything comes back any ideas ?

the little PRND321 thing on the dash is not aligned on mine, so when i shift to reverse, i have to be halfway between park reverse for it to kick in. have you tried pushing up on the shifter just to see what happens? dont pull it towards you like you would to shift out out park, just push it up. i know mine is like that because i have to do that. plus when in drive, the orange needle is almost fully in N.

It doesn't seem to have any direct link to the pos. of the shift indicator you can shift in and out of park ect. and no response until you cycle the key not sure but it kind of seems like a computer misfire maybe no signal is being given or maybe not recieved by the trans being as this is a drive by wire system I'm totally stumped on this and hoped to get an idea of what I'm up against before I' take it in to the svc dept. Oh well it needs the recalls to be performed anyway so I might as well kill three birds with one svc visit

take it to the dealer asap because your not going to fix it. If your stuck some where and really need to reverse put it in 4 low and she'll back up slowly but surely. But still that problem aint going anywhere. You might need a new tranny.

Well I took it in to the dealer and of course they wanted to reflash the truck fortuneately I had disscussed the posibility with the svc writer and they didnt flash per my request however they also will not even look into the issue without first performing a reflash
anyway I got the two recalls done 05B29 & 05S34 along with a few other svc's 15k checkup everthing seems to be going o.k.
The svc writer said no issue with not haveing the reflash but if I had more issues with the truck to bring it back well heres hoping for no more issues I was thinking that maybe I would disc. the batt.s and relearn the trans would this help?

Was the truck stopped when you put it in reverse? Or still rolling?
