which flexplate should I use?
Ok, I am swapping a 1986 351w in my 1978 f100 where a 302 used to be. which flexplate should I use the 351w one, or the 302 one, or are they balanced the same? thanks, Ben

You should not use the 302 flexplate since the early model 302 (pre 82)uses a 28oz balance, you need a flexplate for a 50oz balance 351 with the appropriate number of teeth for your application. Go by any transmission shop and they should be able to recommend the correct one, or you could call Summit Racing 1-800-230-3030, and they could help.
