engine miss HELP
i have a 96 crew cab 4x4 it has a engine miss when your on the trottle not real bad at idle, no codes so i think the wiring is ok [ inj harness ] how cane i tell what cly is missing can't pull spark plug wires

When I had similar problems on my '96, no codes were thrown, but the stealership ran a load contribution test (checks how each injector works), they came back with "an open or intermittent circuit on #8 injector". I replaced the internal wiring harnesses on the drivers side & the problem went away. When I replaced the glow plugs several months later, I replaced the harnesses on the passenger's side. Never misfired again.
You can disconnect the plug at the top of the valve cover to determine which side is misfiring, but that's as close as you can get without pulling the valve covers. Beware that the injectors run on 110vdc; that can give you one heck of a jolt.
