Changing rear end lube
I hate the idea that I cant change the rear end lube easily on my 78 150. Has anyone out there drilled the pumpkin for a drain plug? If so, how close to the bottom of the pumpkin is the gears....in other words, could I screw up big time?

Changing rear end lube
It has been done, -should have been done at the factory. The location depends upon the type of diff you have. The factory was probably worried about creating a stress riser on the bottom of the axle housing and the plug getting messed up by rocks etc.
