[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Oct-02 AT 11:41 PM (EST)]what steps do I take to reduce steering play?
I have a 79 F-150 2 wheel drive with power steering.
Fairly $imple, replace anything that is loose or worn... Bushings, rod ends, kingpins, steering box (if it won't adjust). Slop seems to multiply itself.

I cleaned mine up by replacing the rag joint between the column and box. Take a look at it. If it looks like crap, it may be your problem. Cost 11 bucks at NAPA.
took it in for a front end alignment.they told me all the parts were good except for the rubber mounts that tie the I-Beams to the frame. replaced those with new ones and the alignment was good.
