97 Explorer Starting Problem

I have a 97 Ford Explorer and I have recently replaced the battery, from the origianl factory one, and I had starting problems before where it clicks and clicks then the power locks open and close then starts sooner or later. I have a brand new battery in it now and was fine for awhile but its hard to start again. It will click and click and then the power locks cylce open and closed then eventually it will start. Any ideas? Don't think the alternator is bad, but I could be wrong? Thanks

I would be doing a load test on the battery and starter,
make sure all the connections are clean and secure,
that includes the main ground and the positive on the starter, Good luck

Sounds like corroded or loose connections.

Since it worked fine with the new battery, it sounds like it is'nt charging.

Start it up & connect a voltmeter to the battery, it should read approx 14 volts.
