I've had my 93 Aerostar XLT for 2 1/2 years now and the cruise has never worked. I'm tackling this now because I have to drive long distances now. The common problem that I can see from reading other postings is the clockspring. The problem that I'm having is I get no codes for the airbag, the horn has always worked.Could the clockspring still be the problem? I've been told that it could be the contacts in the switch because its a carbon to copper ring system. I would appreciate any help.
Have you checked the easy stuff first? My problem was a leak in the vacuum hose at the Cruise Control unit under the hood. Its kinda hidden down behind the battery and master cylinder......just a thought.
I have the 3-2 blink of the air bag light in my 94 XLT, but as horn and cruise work fine, I have learned to live with the light. Some of the fellows on here are of the opinion that there may be a connector issue in the steering column. I have other fish to fry, so the light continues to blink.

Got brake lights and the vacuum brake switch is working,i.e. adjusted properly...how could I tell if the vac switch is bad? Maybe if I remove the switch and plug the line and see if cc works then?
you haven't by any chance swapped the incandecent brake bulbs for the led style?
did that to mine and wondered for weeks why the CC wasn't working...then on a fluke tried the old bulbs and PRESTO...CC working fine
Gary
sorry, other than the bulbs mine hasn't acted up at all, so I haven't really had to try much else. hopefully someone will be along shortly with a better answer
