Starting problems..
A little background- My best friend has a 99 SC Dually 4x4 V10, coming up on 100K. He replaced the battery yesterday and (this is funny) wired it backwards. Thats right, put the RED wires on the neg term and vice versa.. anyway.. replaced all the blown fuses and the alternator. Truck will not start using the key now.
If you turn the key to start a 15A under the dash blows immediately
If you turn the key to run and jump it at the starter solenoid on the pass fender (big to big) it starts and runs no problem.
While its running the ONLY indication of something funny is his BATTERY light is on, volt gauge shows normal.
ALL fuses are good under the hood.
Suggestions?
Its hard to work on this thing because of the humor involved, I crawled all over it yesterday, but looks like I'm missing a relay somewhere.. the Haynes manual doesn't help much
