bed rail caps

I'm looking for caps for my bed sides, front, and tailgate for my '69 stylside 8' box. All the catalogs and on-line places only have listings for '73 and newer trucks. Anyone know if the '73-'79 parts will fit or are they too wide or narrow?

I finally gave up trying to find a metal set for my 72. What I did get was a generic kind. It's made of heavy duty but flexable rubber and is fastened on with sticky stuff on the bottom. It's 3.5" wide and covers the rails very well and the sticky stuff is holding very good. It also comes with a strip for across the front of the bed. Cost was about $80 I think.

Don't know what you're looking to accomplish, but there are alternative out there. Not many tho.

LMC is where I got mine, and they do NOT have metal ones for 72 and older.

aluminum bed rails

A few yrs ago I found a set of these for my '72 from one of the auto parts stores although they were for a newer truck. I had to space them up just a bit with some rubber spacers, but they fit OK, and looked good. The reason for spacing them was that the outer curve was just a bit sharper and I wanted to keep the edge off of the paint. other than that, they fit.

I got the generic rubber ones from LMC as I could not find any other kind for a 72.

I saw some metal ones for a 67-72 shortbed in the LMC cat. a while back. I figure if someone is stamping them for a shortbed maybe they'd stamp them for a long bed if enough people e-mailed then about it
