There are lots of good ideas here, and I really like the hidden magnetic switch lock-out idea. But, as I re-read your post, I don't know how any would work with the remote start function. Seems that if you disabled any start system for security, that the remote start function would not work.
Then threre's the tow truck thief. No start needed!
Perhapes a system that used a movement device (such as the ABS wheel sensors or GPS), that when activated and triggered, would lock all four wheels, set off an alarm, and blare out a recorded message at 150 db....."I'M BEING STOLEN...CALL 911"
'Coarse any "anti-thieft" system invented will only stop the common thief, but if a realy smart pro wants your stuff, they'll get it. JMHO. -Rob
PS; A good security system install should not be under the vehicle or the hood, all components should be with in the protectided area.
The Brakelock (http://www.brakelock.com) locks your brakes after you turn the key on the device and press the brake pedal. It will be one of the first security measures I install... I think. Hard to drive off with a truck with all the brakes locked, and seems like the best way to keep them from towing it.
But yes, if they really want it, they'll get it.......
"Wow?" Some of you guys should be working for Homeland Security... Or be professional car theives. ha ha.
Thanks for all the great feed back, I knew that some of you guys would have some great ideas for protecting your rides!
I can see it now... "Pilot to tower, security systems check, Fuel System Cut Off-Check, Ignition Kill-Check, Magnetic Ejection Seat-Check, Super Secret ...." I love this stuff!
