electric choke hookup

Hello:

I've dropped a 77 302/c-4 in my 71. Before I had a heat activated choke, now I'm using the Motorcraft 2barrel with electric choke. I need to add power. Any advice on where to tap into? Or, since I'm in California, can I run it disconnected and just rotate the adjustment wide open?

thanks for any advice.

Ken

Tap into the stator wire coming off of the alternator. This is how the factory does it so that it only gets voltage while the engine is running.

Great Idea

Thanks for the help. I noticed after I posted my original question that it has the fitting for exhaust manifold fitting too. Which works best, and if I use the electrical choke, do I have to cap the heat fitting?

I have used just the electric part with no problems. You shouldn't have to plug the opening on the choke unless it has vacuum sucking in it.

What about the heat riser pipe(?) coming off the manifold?

That is there to keep the carb from icing up in cool, damp weather.
