water in t-case

water in t-case
every time i drive through any kind of water/mud i end up with water in my transfer case. where is it coming from. i've never driven in water deep enough to even touch the t-case except splashing, all the seals and breather hose are in good shape. could this be a problem with where the breather hose is located (on top of the t-case) or is there something else wrong. any input would be greatly appretiated.
