Broke my knee

Last night I was trying to take a short cut to my backyard by hopping the side fence. Well I ended up getting my right foot entangled into the fence and falling and breaking my left knee.

When I fell down, I heard a load pop and thought that the knee had popped out and back in. My leg never turned black and blue or really even hurt that bad. I just iced it and relaxed, took some inflamitories. Overnight my knee swelled up and the pain became unbareable. I went ahead and went to the doctors and after x-rays found a stress fracture.

Now I can not even drive my truck, no less do much else other then sit around on the computer, watch tv or read.

I'm never taking that short cut again Well atleast I know have unlimited amount of time to study for the Police Department exam.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. I recently recovered from a fractured rib which only hurt when I breathed. Hopefully you will recover soon.
My dad was a city cop and a deputy sheriff for about 8 years. There are a lot of positives and a lot of negatives to the profession and you will either love it or hate it. Good luck.

When I was a kid we used to play army with cast iron dummy hand grenades we got from the army - navy surplus store. Since they wouldn't explode, we used to try to bludgeon each other to death with them. I got hit in the knee once. That rated as one of the most painful experiences I ever had so I hope your feeling better soon.

Broken ribs... that's fun too. Four weeks or so of hoping not to sneeze or laugh.

Good luck with your police pursuits -- pun intended.

Sorry to hear that. I did something similar 3 years ago. Fractured my left kneecap. Multiple fractures. OMG, did that hurt. Ended up with a cast from my rear end to the ankle. Almost impossible to go to the john. As I remember, the cast was on for 8 weeks. Could not get into the front seat of the car or truck. Had to back into the rear seat.

Good luck.

Me and the wife were playing frisbee in the back yard one night with the dog's. I therw the disk to the wife and heard a sound..... it sounded like two 2X4's being slammed together. Next thing I know, she is on the ground screaming in pain. Well she she tore her ACL. Had Knee surgery, and that was a nightmare in itself. However on a happier note, because she was stuck in bed bed with a bum knee, she mysteriously became pregnant??? Too this day, we have a beautiful 6 year old girl to remind us of the knee pain that once was. Tomcat7742, hopefully you won't have that problem!

I feel your pain.

I have had 7 knee operations. The first one being the most major.

People really need to take care of their knees/legs.

They become the main weight bearing limbs when one gets older.

I broke my knee about 30 years ago and it has hurt off and on every since.
They fixed it when it happened but it has been keeping the cartledge inflamed now I think most of the cartledge is gone.
I am going to get it operated on Tuesday, lately it has been pretty painful.

I was doing research a few years ago & found out about this procedure.

Apparently they do this in Idaho somewhere.

I would make a great candidate except for the age part

I have a real good time filling out those doctor forms where it says list you previous sugeries
Currently I'm am having cortizone shots in my lower back to releave nagging pain in the SI joint (Butt pain). It takes a very long needle and your awake. In the past I have
had left knee surgery twice now only have part of a knee cap, broken vertbre in my lower back, disk fusion at C5-6 the doctor told me I could never lay down upside sown under a dashboard again. Now I work on RV's. fractured collar bone and dislocated shoulder (30 some years ago) shoulder has been worked on twice since then, carpule tunnel surgery on both wrists and elbows, oh and had my gall bladder removed. I still work on cars, ride motorcycles, go wheelin. The only thing I don't do is drink anymore

The doc. don't know exactly what he is gonna do until he gets in there.
On account of my heart and breathing I am going to have to spend one night in the hospital.
I already had a cortizone shot in each knee, that was FUN.
