seam sealer experience
I am just about finished with the floor repair on my 55. Its clear that I had to pull/burn off some of the old seam sealer, and want to put on more..
anyone have any advice on their experience with seam sealers on the floor, inside/outside, brushable, spry, caulk tube..
3M Automotive Part # 08656
is a brushable, 1qt can. how far will this go? have at least 15 feet to cover..

I have used siliconized caulk from a cauking tube. You have to make sure it is paintable or the paint will not stick and it will mess up the rest of the paint job with fisheyes where ever you may touch your truck with contaminated fingers.

How thick a coat can you build in one coat with brushables? Is it really thick? It would seem to offer some advantages over the tubes if it seeped into joints. I am also just finishing a cab and am undecided which way to go.

I used the Eastwood brush on seam sealer. Stuff is very thick and when it dries overnight, it smooths out nicely. It is paintable and one can is more than enough to do all the seams in an entire vehicle.
