I have been looking for a 6.0 King Ranch dually for the last 6 weeks and it seems everytime I find one with all the options I want it gets snatched up. My local dealer finally found one for me that had all the options I wanted. And I was pretty adamant about what I wanted; King Ranch, Moon roof, Back Up Sensors, and dual alt's.
He found me a truck in West Va (I live in VA about 300 miles away) and told me it had everything I wanted except dual altenators.
He brings the truck in today and we go through the whole walk through and everything, fill out the paperwork and before I sign on the bottom line I go back out to check out the truck and realize that there is no reverse sensor (a must for me, as I'm always bumping into something) I make him aware of this fact, and the fact that I told him that it was a requirement. He tells me that an aftermarket reverse sensor can be installed for $650 and I tell him No way. You pay half or I walk out of here. Well, I walked out and am writing the group to ask, A. Are the aftermarket reverse sensors worth a damn (AudioVox) and B. Did I make the right decision by walking out or should I have just sucked it up.
Could not have been more frustrating! I am eager to get in a new truck.
I wasn't looking for a reverse sensor when I bought my truck. Now that mine came with it, I just can't see how I would do without it. I think they are great with a truck this size.
JMO, Tim
Looking for an 05 or 06 King Ranch DRW in Black w/ Dual Alts, Backup Sensors, Trailer Brake controller, upfitter switches, Limited slip rear, sliding rear-window, and I don't really care about the moon roof would be happy with or without.

If I had to make a choice as to the most useful option, I would have to say it is the back-up sensors. Can't tell you how many tight spots I can get into with this huge chunk of iron. With the Crew Cab and long box, it's a must have.
Funny thing was, in my case, I never would have ordered it if I was building it, but, now, I can't live without it.
Victor NY. Sounds like a lot farther than it really is When I went up to get mine, it took me about 6-7 hours to get back to Winchester Va, if that gives you some idea. I guarantee you will not regret the trip
I did the same thing a few weeks ago, only on the west coast side of it. I flew from Vegas to Portland, OR to buy my truck from Ernie at Suburban Ford, then took 2 days to drive it home (1,200 miles). Try to find a 6-speed (and specifically configured one) at the end of the model year, they're rare enough during the middle of the year, Ernie did it for me and got it there no problem. It was absolutely the best buying experience I've ever had.
These FTE related sales guys (Ernie and Jeff) do it right. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend you look at doing that.
give jeff a phone call and hop by plane to rochester ny, jeff has even picked his people up at the air port .going home to dc it's all interstate. also as a fte member the price is invoice less 200. that pays the plane ticket and jeff will make the deal so easy you will never want to deal with any one else. on the west side pollar bear does the same

Thoughts?
You were right.... and I would have done the same thing. Since you spelled it out for those jokers theres no excuse. I read it as the salesman trying to take advantage of you since he knew good and well what was important to you...and he chose to ignore it thinking you would be a pushover.
I'm not an expert on reverse sensors ..so I can't say how an aftermarket system compares.
Stick to your guns unless you choose to accept the vehicle the way it is. If you do ...they should comp you in some way for not delivering on what they promised.
Yeah, since it is offered right now it is better. Jeff usually is about the best deal going even when there is no special offer with Ford. Jeff will sell it at Family plan. You really should contact him if the truck interests you.
You can pm or call him. Here is his info. If you call you want to talk to Jeff Clark, and only Jeff Clark

you are spending your hard earned money. get exactly what you want, and nothing less. heck, i make sure to get exactly the style jeans i like and they are only about $20 a pair at old navy. i can be difficult at times when you get that new truck glimmer and just want it now, but you will thank your self later when you get every option you want.
