I had my truck in the shop for alignment the other day. Was told the truck drives fine and the tires were low. So, they added 2psi to each of the front tires. They now ride at 30psi. The rears have 40+. I can't find the sticker on the truck to see what the factory says. Anybody know for sure?
Boy do I feel dumb. I looked right at the tag twice and forgot the newer VIN/cert tags have the tire pressures for that specific vehicle on them.
My 2000 SC was built in 9/99. It calls for 30/30 with the 16" wheels. Of course that was before the ATX tire problems.
In poking around the web I find tire companies are recommending 35/35.
The whole reason I'm asking is the price of petro and the way gas milage has dropped since my tire pressure dropped. I was running about 40psi all around; until I got new tires.
watch the air pressure thing though. for example I run two sizes up on my stock height 03 edge and i have to run the tires well above factory recomendations (with in BF Goodrich recomendations though). Just somthing to keep in mind.
