My passenger side front window just stopped working one day. My wife rolled it up and it's never come down since. It would make a small sound like it was trying when you would push "up" on the button, but down, it made no sound. I took the door panel apart and unhooked the window motor from the window, but left it plugged in and nothing, so I assumed the motor was bad. I bought a new motor, installed it today and still nothing, however when messing with the buttons, it all the sudden went down, so I thought it was fixed and rolled it back up, now it's back to square one. It won't come down (and doesn't sound like it even tries to), but when you roll it up you can hear the motor kind of try. Any ideas? Is it a short somewhere? If it was the relay would it work for a second then go away? I've searched all over and can't find anything specific to this problem. Should my window have fallen down in the door when I unhooked the motor (because it didn't move)? Does this mean my window is binding? I'm at a loss, any help is much appreciated.

If I understand correctly the regulator is basically the whole assembly that moves the window up and down, correct? The window used to make a creaking sound as it would go up (when it worked), so that could very well be it. I leave on vacation on Saturday morning, I was hoping to have it fixed by then, is it an easy job to replace the regulator, or should I try just greasing it up good?
Okay, the regulator is fine. I hooked the motor up all by itself and it will roll up, it just won't roll down and that is for my old motor and my new motor, so the motor is good, the regulator is good. What would cause my motor to only work one direction?
Check the switch, i had to hose mine down with electric contact cleaner (wd-40 will probably work) the switch is probly just sticking, check the voltage to the plug with your VOM.
Same Problem / But All Master Switch Plus Driver Door
I have the same identical problem. The right front passenger window will not go down 50% of the time. It will work for one or two times, but then stay in the up position regardless of whether you are using the Driver-side master switch or the passenger side window switch.
Is the window up/down control switch the one that was lubricated to correct the problem, or was this another switch in the "Regulator" or some place else.
The reason for the question is that both the driver and passenger window up/down switch will not cause the window to go down when in this state. Then, when it works, both the driver and passsenger up/down control switch will cause the window to go down?
Mine worked fine for about a day, now I can't get it to work again, even lubing it up, so I'm going to have to pay the $60 to go buy a switch.
To answer your question above, the switch is the actual button that you push on the door. The dealer told me that both the driver and passenger side controls go through the drivers side, so most likely it is the drivers side switch that has gone bad, otherwise the drivers side would still work. I can always sell you my motor that I never used if you like . I can't return it because it is electrical and they won't accept returns on electrical parts. Anyone want to buy a window motor for cheap? It cost me $46.99, I'll sell it for much less than that.
Are you saying that if one switch goes bad, because they are wired through the driver master switch, neither the driver or passenger switch will work?
I ask this question because neither my Driver side control nor the passenger seat switch control will make the window go down "On occasion".
But, once in a while it will work fine at that specific moment.
The dealer told me that the passenger side switch has to go through the drivers side switch, so most likely since neither switch will work from time to time, it's the drivers side (master switch) that is faulty.
