Loose center link
I was under my truck greesing it today and found that the passenger side center link mount is loose. I don't know how better to describe the situation, but the nut and cotter pin are tight and in tact. How do I go about fixing this, and if I need a new center link would one from a newer truck (73-77) work.
I could be wrong on my name, but it is the peice that connects to the drag link that allows the left tire to turn. I really don't want it to be loose.

the drag link goes from the steering box to the right spindle. the inner and outer tie rods go on the left side of the truck. the adjuster sleeve goes between the tie rods. you should be able to get the tie rods at most parts stores. they aren't too expensive considering what it would cost if one broke while driving.

thanks for the quick reply. I believe I will pick new tie rods and all the works some time soon maybe even get a sway bar for it too. I don't trust it to drive on roads right now, so I guess I am stuck drivin the capri.

shop around
Last yr I replaced those front end parts, and by shopping around I was able to save a few $$$. Actually it was quite a few, especially when you're talking all of it together. But oh what a difference on the road.
