Where do ya'll think heavan on Earth is? Even though I am from Texas and swear that it is heaven, the summers are hellacious for me. With that in mind, I believe Colorado Springs, at the base of Pike's Peak, is heaven on Earth. Clean air, cool summer nights. Aaahhhhh.
Can't argue with you on that one Darknight. LOVE these summer evenings. This evening I found myself taking the long way home from dropping off a video enjoying the weather and trying to decide if the Ranger is pinging or not. (What IS that?!?)
Even better than the Springs are the mountains in the surrounding area. We have some friends that own mountain property near Cripple Creek. Now that is about as close as you'll get to Heaven on earth.
I haven't lived in Colorado Springs, but my younger brother does and last August, my family, bride and I went there to visit him for a week. It was 100+ here in Houston at the time but there it was pleasant... So nice that I am going to move there when I retire.
I would definitely have to agree with Raoul. The mansion would be IT! Close second place is Bartons Spring in Austin,Texas! Aw hell, anywhere in Texas. Ever hear that old song...When I die, I may not go to heaven???
We need to get Hugh to move the Playboy mansion to Colorado Springs, and arrange for a big Ford dealership that stocks verything and sells at cost - that would truely be heaven. Until then I agree Colorado Springs is great but I'd like San Diego better if the Mexicians would go home.
I would have to say that floating in my canoe, in northwest Ark. is the best for me! Any of these 3 rivers will do, Buffalo, Mulberry, Big Piney. Beautiful scenery, unspoiled, friendly folks, not too expensive either!!
Sitting on the tailgate of my truck in Oct. drinking a "cool beverage" overlooking the Ohio Valley into West Virginia from one of the hill tops on my buddies farm. Nothing like the leaves turning and the fall air to add to the moment. I've been up there dozens of times and it is still one of the coolest things I've seen....
